Jeremy Hillman is the World Bank Group’s director of corporate communications based in Washington DC where he directs the strategic communications efforts in support of the Bank’s mission to end extreme poverty and build shared prosperity. Previously, Jeremy, a UK national, was Director of external communications at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, where he led campaigns on health, development and education issues working closely with the co-chairs Bill and Melinda Gates. Jeremy is also a veteran journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). He was head of the business and economics department at BBC News from 2008 to 2011, where he was responsible for a team of over 150 journalists covering the global financial crisis, and also ran the newsroom of the BBC’s 24 hour commercial news channel World News. He has a passion for creative content and building strong communications metrics and measurement capacity.
